beasts of the southern wild has such a soul… a human spirit. it’s a pretty simple plot, but the filmmaker/actors did an incredible job of bring it literally alive. it’s a huge work of art for the rawness it was able to capture… it’s a film you have to feel and experience. i loved hushpuppy, but i have to say, by the end of the film, my favorite character was her father, wink. heartbreaking performance. should’ve gotten a mention at the oscars. at least. this was so raw… estoy still in shock from experiencing the film.
